How to submit stock photos to DeviantArt

This tutorial explains how to submit stock images to Deviant Art
Made for new stock providers.

You should NOT upload photography as stock which are NOT yours

Keep in mind that the Copyright Owner has 4 Exclusive Rights:
1. To reproduce the copyrighted material
2. To display the copyrighted work
3. To create derivatives of the copyrighted work
4. To distribute the copyrighted material

There are strict rules about ownership and copyright issues on any photographs you submit.
Infringement of copyright may result in monetary damages, lawsuits, costly legal fees and under some rare circumstances, criminal charges.
Copyright is a form of protection provided by the law to the authors of “original works of authorship.”
By virtue of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works,
works are protected in all 160 countries that are party to the Convention, as well as various other laws such as the US copyright act.

Do not submit also third party logos and trademarks of any kind.
Avoid taking photos of military buildings and objects where the trademark is visible.


Quality is the most important criteria.
Check what your images look like at 100% before submitting them.
Upload your photos in full size.
Do not scale down and do not crop photographs too tight.

With the help of keywords (tags) you can help others to find your stock images.
Describe your stock photo as specific as you can.
Use keyword suggestion tools. You write a few keywords per line and the tool suggests other similar keywords.
  Be sure that the keywords you use describe your shots well.

Do not write long descriptions.
Put your stock rules (link or thumb) / Terms of Use in the description of your stock photo.

Do write your rules easy to understand and clear

 You must Credit my stock and Notify me of use. This is mandatory for all of my stocks. If you are working on a project where you will be unable to include a credit byline, contact me via note. I will be more than happy to work with you on it if you let me know where it will be used.

Premade backgrounds, tutorials and actions with my stock are allowed.
